TCAN1145-Q1: pls help see this question.

Part Number: TCAN1145-Q1

When we tested the physical layer of the TAN1145, we found that the CANH and CALL waveforms were not good

Green CAN_H, yellow CAN_L, pink CAN_H-CAN_L

Question: What is the reason why the CAN_H and CAN_L levels should be straight and there should be no abrupt changes in the CAN_H-CAN_L?

  • Hi Xiaofu,

I think the pink waveform is common mode voltage (CANH+CANL)/2, not the differential voltage CANH-CANL. In most application using common mode choke will be enough to suppress the noise. Did you place the probe after the connector? If yes could you try to measure again without the connector?
