Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPIC8101
I believe I am in the same boat as others in the past needing to update the TI GER PCB.
Please send me the update files for this board.
Thanks!

Hi Marcus,
John supports these devices, but is currently out of office, and will be back next week. He will reply at that time. Sorry for the delay.
Marcus,
I am just back in the office.
Could you walk thru the steps you used to get to this point?
Regards,
John
Out of the box, I followed the EVM User's Guide. I didn't see anything on the TCLK or INT/HOLD. I checked all the jumpers were installed on the the TPIC8101 side. I posted to E2E. I was referred to this thread. I downloaded and successful flashed the firmware posted here but there is still no TCLK and INT/HOLD. I verified that the TPIC8101 board is functioning by removing the TIger board and using external signals on the TPIC8101 to successfully output from the OUT pin.
Marcus,
Thanks for the clarifications.
I will try to duplicate what you have seen using my EVM, and will update this thread by COB by the end of the week.
Regards,
John
Marcus,
My EVM showed a 1kHz, 5Vpp signal for TCLK.
Please double-check the TCLK jumper is in place (JP2 on the schematic).
What are you expecting to see for he INT/HOLD pin?
Regards,
John
JP2 is/was installed. Shouldn't the TCLK be something specified in the datasheet: "4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, and 24 MHz". For the INT/HOLD, I would expect something related to the "integration time constant".
Marcus,
I will look at this some more ad update the thread by COB on Thursday.
John
Marcus,
An EVM & GUI used the following settings:
Note the integration window was changed to hex 01C6. According to the EVM user's guide, this setting should give a 100Hz square waveform on the INT/H pin, which corresponds to a 5ms integration window.
The XCLK test point showed an 8MHz waveform, which agrees with the GUI setting:
The INT/H test point shows a 100Hz square wave as mentioned in the user's guide, which gives a 5ms integration window:
Please give that a tray and update the thread with your findings.
Regards,
John
Found the issue. The TIger board was missing a jumper on the 3V/5V header:
I now get a AOUT:
Marcus,
I am glad your EVM is working!
Many thanks for update.
Regards,
John
