TCA39306: in switch mode

Part Number: TCA39306

Hi team,

do you see any issue when TCA39306 is being used in switch mode and customer would connect VREF2 and ENABLE to the VCC_LowTemp (3.3V) and VREF1 to VCC_HighTemp (3.3V)?

What would happen if there would be an issue if VREF2 and EN are connected to ground while VREF1 is still at 3.3V.
This would be the case when Low Temp VIO is disabled once the system reaches a certain temperature.

Is this a concern for possible back power trough on chip ESD diodes?

BR,
Stefan

  • Hey Stefan,

TCA39306 can be used in switch mode, yes (see section 8.1.5 for example use case). In the case VREF2 and EN go to GND (0V), the channel FETs will be in cutoff mode and I/Os will be disabled. No concerns for any back powering through the ESD diodes.

Feel free to share a schematic for further clarification if needed.

    Regards,

    Jack
