DS100BR410: SMBus Pins when device is set to pin mode

Part Number: DS100BR410

Tool/software:

Good morning,

Is it acceptable to leave the SDA, SDC, and CS pins on the DS100BR410 device not connected when I have the component set to pin control mode? On the datasheet it has a note that says external pull-up resistor is required for the SDA pin, but I'm assuming that is only necessary when you utilize the SMBus interface.

Thanks in advance!

  • Greetings James,

It would be a good idea or good design practice to have 2K to 5K pull ups to -un-assert or prevent noise from coupling into these signals. You might be able to get away with leaving them float but for a robust design suggestion is to put pull ups.

    Regards, Nasser
