TCA9548A: Switch to another I2C channel after one I2C channel failure

Part Number: TCA9548A

Tool/software:

Hi TI expert,

My customer connects TCA9548A to different I2C devices. And I2C device is easy to make the channel of TCA9548 failure, like pull down the corresponding I2C channel to GND or no ACK. After the failure, they want to switch to other channels of TCA9548A by changing A0-A2. Can TCA9548 switch successfully?

Best Regards,

Fengyu

  • The A0/A1/A2 pins can be changed at any time, but they do not influence which channels are active. The only way to disabled the channels without an I²C access is by pulling /RESET low.
