DS90LV011A: Questions about overshoot and undershoot on input signal terminal.

Part Number: DS90LV011A

Tool/software:

Hello guys,

One of my customers has the following questions about DS90LV011A input signal terminal voltage.

Could you please give me you reply?

Q.
The device datasheet says that LVCMOS input voltage (TTL IN) range is -0.3V to +3.9V at the absolute Maximum Ratings table.
I think this voltage range is DC case not pulse case.
Do you have any other input voltage range for very short pulse?
For example, it is like "Overshoot and undershoot of -2V to +5V is permitted for a durations of <20ns".

Your reply would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Kazuya.

  • Overshoots and undershoots from −0.3 V to +3.9 V are permitted for any duration. There are no exceptions for shorter pulses.

  • Hi Kazuya,

The “Absolute Maximum Ratings” section is not DC or pulse specific. The device can tolerate an input within the max limits, but beyond the max limits the device functionality cannot be guaranteed. It is also not recommended that the device be operated at the max limits. The "Electrical Characteristics" section clarifies the recommended conditions of operation.

    Regards, Amy
