DP83867IR: Link establishment when all Fast Link Detect modes are default

Hi Team,

Fast Link Detect is enabled on the strap.
However, Configuration Register 3 (CFG3), address 0x001E is all default.
In this case, in what mode will the link be established?
Please let me know if the information is insufficient.

Hi Atsushi,

I believe there might be a small confusion here. Fast Link Detect is not a strap option. The 64-pin PAP variant of the DP83867 has a strap option for Fast Link Drop on the CRS pin. This is a different feature. Fast Link Detect is configured purely through register access, 0x1E as you mentioned.

Thank you for your reply.

As you say, the latest datasheet says Fast Link Drop.

However, the old datasheet the customer are referring to says Fast Link Detect.

Is Fast Link Drop correct?

I see how this can be misleading. This was a typo that has since been corrected. Please always use the most up-to-date version of the data sheet.
