TCA9539: How can I add enable a gpio entender driver in Yocto linux for this part

Tool/software:

I am using a version of Yocto linux at my company.  There is no TCA9539 driver.  How can i enable support for this part on the i2c bus in Yocto.

There is an NXP PCA9539 driver available.  Are they equivalent?  

Can you provide some detailed instructions so I can complete this task?

    Yes, the PCA9539 and TCA9539 have the same software interface.

    I do not think there is anything special about Yocto; you should be able to configure it normally in the DeviceTree. The details will depend on your I²C host hardware.
