[FAQ] TUSB522P: Where should a USB3 redriver be placed?

Part Number: TUSB522P

Tool/software:

The USB3 redriver is meant to recover signal loss from a lossy channel.  The redriver is best placed near the end of the channel.  For example, in a motherboard application, the redriver is best placed closer to the USB connector to help recover the signal from the longer trace between the Host and redriver.  The channel from the connector to the device should normally be within the loss budget of the USB specification and doesn't normally require additional Tx equalization from the redriver.
