DP83TG720R-Q1: Maximum transmission distance

Our PHY complies with the IEEE802.3bp 1000BASE-T1 standard, which defines the maximum transmission distance of 15m as well as the guidelines for the type of cable.

Thank you for the quick response. I didn't buy the specification, but looking on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabit_Ethernet#1000BASE-T1), it says that with a Type A cable you get 15m and with a Type B cable you get 40m. Do you know whether this PHY can support a "Type B" cable? What is a type B?

do you have more information about this register configuration to allow for longer distances?

For the DP83TG720 the definition for a "type B cable" can be found in IEEE Std 802.3bp.

As for it we support a type B cable this is a new use case we have found, initially we characterized the PHY for Type A 15 m.

We are interested in utilizing Type B 40 m and are currently working on the evaluation. 

Is Type B 40 m something you are are evaluating for this PHY?
