TCA9617A: TCA9617A work in parallel

Hi Jack, there is no explanaiton about parallel work in this AN.

Ports with a voltage offset output a relatively high V_OL, but require other devices to output a lower V_OL. This means that when one TCA9617A's B port outputs a low signal, the other TCA9617A will not recognize it.

There are other level shifters, but you must tell us about the required voltages.

I can really understand why it cannot work in series mode. You do not need to explain it for me. 

Let's focus on parallel mode. 

When Master transmits a “0” to buffer 1(upper one) and buffer 2(lower one), they can pass “0” to slave 1(upper one) and slave 2(lower one), it is OK.

When slave 1 is selected, slave 1 can also transmits “0” to master. It's Ok. 

When slave 2 is selected, slave 2 can also transmits “0” to master. It's Ok. 

And slave 1 will not communicate directly with slave 2. Correct? 

So I don’t think there is any problem in parallel mode. 

Am I correct?  BTW, what's your email? 

When any slave uses clock stretching, the slaves behind the other buffer do not see the correct clock signal and might not handle start/stop signals correctly.

(If no slave can use clock stretching, then the other slaves see only wrong data bits, which does not matter.)

Could you please draw a picture(I mean I2C protocal) to show when there will be an issue if salve uses clock stretching in detail?
