TCAN1145-Q1: Q1

Part Number: TCAN1145-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi~ everyone:

Encountered issues during the fine-tuning of the dedicated frame CAN for activation in TCAN1145 are as follows:

1. Should the Software Enable (SW EN) bit within the MODE CONTROL register (0x10) be set to zero, the CAN transceiver is susceptible to awakening upon the reception of any frame post-entering the sleep mode.

2. Once a particular frame is designated for sleep mode, activation via packet transmission is rendered impossible. The configuration sequence mandates: Identifier -> Identifier Mask -> Software Configuration -> Wake-up Enable. Each stage necessitates a read-back confirmation before progression to the subsequent step, contingent upon successful configuration.

3. Prior to transitioning into sleep mode, both states are indication of activation; however, the FRAME counter for accessing FRAME CNTx (0x45) error reading is registering zero.

  • Huajian,

An engineer has been assigned to this post, but please expect delays as today and tomorrow are US holiday. We will get back to you by Monday 07/08/2024.

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett

  • Roger that. Looking forward to your reply

  • Huajian,

Please expect the answer here by early next week since our subject matter expert is currently out of office due to US holiday.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Regards.

  • Hi Huajian,

The SW_EN bit enables the selective wake feature in this device. This allows the device to decode CAN frames and compare them with the configured ID and data that is saved in the selective wake configuration registers. The SW_EN bit should be set at the same time that the transceiver is moved to sleep mode (same register write). It is not recommended to have SW_EN set when the device is in any active mode such as normal mode.

Please ensure that the SWCFG bit is set once all partial networking settings have been configured. This should be the last step of the configuration process - note that writing to any partial networking configuration settings will clear the SWCFG bit.

The full process required to configure partial networking is outlined in the last paragraph of datasheet section 10.4.5.2.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott
