About Code Composer Studio and ARM Cortex m3

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB9261

Hello. I am using a ARM Cortex m3 based EVM board called TI TUSB9261 EVM board. I am currently studying the firmware of this product and trying to have the firmware C source code compliled and tested. I am not sure whether CCS can provide us such an environment in which we can compile our own firmware for this board. If this is not OK, is there any alternative compiler we can use to do embedded programming?

We are performing this action for emdedded system design academic study. I hope to get some technical guide. Thank you.

  • Hi,

From a pure compiler standpoint, CCS is perfectly capable of building firmware for the Cortex M3 device inside the TUSB9261. However, the JTAG debugging interface is not supported at this time.

Although the Implementation manual mentions the JTAG interface of the TUSB9261 can be used for debugging, it makes no mention to which tools support this. Therefore I will move your post to the Consumer & Computing Forum as they will have a better idea on the development environment that can be used with this device.

    Regards,

    Rafael

  • Hi,

Looking at this question I have a subsequent question that is can you get the source code for the firmware image for the TUSB9261 so that you can change it? OK, I get the no JTAG debugging support part but I am more interested in being able to add new functionality to the microcontroller.

    PK.

  • Please send an email to swat@list.ti.com with your requirement and you will be asked back for contact information to release the code.
