Tool/software:
Hello,
I'm using TCAN4550 with the following supply voltages:
Vsup=12V or 15V
Vio=3.3V
The higher supply voltage (Vsup) can be switched on and off, while the lower supply voltage (Vio) remains continuously active.
Is there a risk to the controller when Vsup is off and Vio is on?
Thank you,
Raya.
Hi Raya,
This is OK. The VIO supply rail is only used for the clocking circuit and to set the reference voltage for the Digital IO signals (SPI, GPIO, etc.). The majority of the TCAN4550 is supplied from the VSUP and the internal regulators will be held in a state of reset while VSUP is off.
Regards,
Jonathan
