hi Team,

Can you please help me understand, in which cases does one need TPS2044 in addition to TUSB2046? Or to which degree are protection features also already integrated in TUSB2046?

Andreas:

TPS2044 is power switch to provide 5v vbus to downstream port devices. It should be used in most cases unless downstream port device don't need Vbus to work.

Hi Brian,

they need two-way data transfer (need to transmit information to the host device and transmit information from the host device to the slave devices). Is it possible with TUSB2046?

TUSB2046 is FS hub which can expand USB ports , so more than 1 device on TUSB2046 downstream ports can transmit information to USB host.

so on mainboard, hub upstream is connected to processor and DS port 1 is connected to energy management.

DS port 2-4 are conencted to other machines .

is this what you are looking for? Do you only need full speed application?
