Hi,

We are trying to connect to this evaluation card and test-run PTP but we have not yet been able to get it working with any of the suggested interfaces. I have tried ALP on Windows XP and it is running but I still see that the hardware is not connected and ALP doesn't find the card. Regarding the C library suggested, it is not possible to run the test app and neither the Python files since they are written in an older version of Python(2.4.4) which is no longer supported. Additionally I have checked the USB interface and suggested updates but card doesn't seem to connect.

    Thanks for your query.

    Is it possible to back-port your system to run older python version for this project? Please clarify the challenges here for using this library, I believe changing your default compilers to the older versions required should allow compatibility here.

    In the meantime, I will look into using ALP for this card.

    Hello, 

    Due to security reasons we are unable to back-port our system to run older Python versions same goes with older default compilers and also the C library. WE also tried the instructions regarding ActiveX  with no results. Any updates regarding ALP?

    Hi Bahar,

    Thanks for confirming.

    Unfortunately, ALP on DP83640T-EVK only been validated for internal use, and is not a suitable tool for evaluating this EVK.

    I recommend sourcing a platform that can run the required versions of C / Python, and using this as a reference while porting the code to newer versions for your application.
