TLIN1039-Q1: Doesn't TLIN1039-Q1 require ESD protection diode like ESD1LIN24-Q1?

As I am making a presentation for TLIN1039-Q1 to my customer tomorrow, I hope your immediate reply.

In the datasheet of TLIN1039-Q1, I found TLIN1039-Q1 (or other TI's LIN transceiver) integrates ESD protection circuit.

Then, doesn't TLIN1039-Q1 require ESD protection diode like ESD1LIN24-Q1?, or does it require in some situations?

If it sometimes requires the ESD protection diode, please let me know the detail of the situation.
