DS90UB933-Q1: DS90UB933-Q1 PDN Network

Part Number: DS90UB933-Q1

Tool/software:

HI team,

We are performing the BCI for the serializer (DS90UB933-Q1). Could anyone please share the PDN network for the LVDS line.

  • Hello Pavan,

Could you clarify a couple points in your question?

    1. You mentioned performing BCI on the 933 serializer.
      1. Are you conducting an RF immunity test on the 933 EVM, or your own PCB with the 933 chip populated?
    2. I assume PDN stands for Power Distribution Network.
      1. Are you referring to the Power-Over-Coax (PoC) Network being implemented on the RIN+/DIN+ traces of our devices?

    Best,

    Justin Phan

  • Hello Justin,

    1. Yes, we are performing BCI with 933 chip populated on our own PCB.

2.Yes , PDN stands for Passive Distribution Network. We need this for the LVDS pin (DOUT+) to perform BCI

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hello Pavan,

If you are looking for a PoC Network to transfer DC current to a remote serializer/camera module for power, then I expect the overall system to look like below:

A PoC network that you can use for this purpose for the 933 is one of the example 2G POC networks listed in our datasheets:

Make sure that the DC current sent through the PoC Network does not exceed the saturation current limit of the inductors used in the system and that the FPD3 Channel Specifications can be met in your system.

For the BCI testing, I believe you will be using a BCI probe setup on the system and batteries to power the PCB system.

  • Hello Justin,

Thanks for the inputs shared. The POC filter is already implemented in the circuit. I was looking for the PIN and Package RLC parameters of the pins as they are not available in Ibis model.Could you share those details if available.

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hello Pavan,

Which pins do you need this information for? If it's the DOUTP/M pins, then you can refer to the model named "BCS_CML_TX" and jump to the "Model BCS_CML_TX_VOD" section.

  • Hi Justin,

I need this information for DOUTP pin. I need the RLC parasitic of the DOUTP pin to perform BCI in simetrix. The data available in ibis model of "Model BCS_CML_TX_VOD" section is V-I data. Also suggest if there is any method to use the V-I data in spice tool.

    Thanks and regards,

  • Hello Pavan,

I might need to double-check with my team on this. I will provide an update soon.

  • Hi Pavan,

Unfortunately, we do not have any additional RLC information outside of what is in the IBIS model. But you can use the input pin capacitance as C_comp.
