DS90UB953-Q1: Does FPD-LINK serializer support sleep and remote wakeup

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi, we are designing a system with cameras a few feet away in a cool place. We are using DS90UB953/DS90UB954 pair with MIPI camera and MIPI interface on the computer side.

We are trying to improve energy consumption when the camera is idle. At this moment the DS90UB953 takes more than 100mA and generate a significant amount of heat. We know we can cut the power on the coaxial cable but the re-connection take a long time.

Does DS90UB953 support sleep and it can be waken up from the de-serializer side? Unfortunately I did not find anything in datasheet yet. If this feature is not available on this chip, do you have another chip that support such feature?

Thanks

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out. The DS90UB953 does not have a sleep mode. Powering down the device completely and then re-initializing when power is restored is the only way to limit the total time the device is operating. There are not currently any serializers in our portfolio with such a feature.
