DS100KR401: DS100KR401 re-driver adjustments

Part Number: DS100KR401

Tool/software:

The below mentioned architecture has been used with 72 Nos of 10Gbps data rate lane. Some channels having a BER - 0E0 with mode as 10G instead of 10G-KR.

0E0 has been achieved in some of the channels and attached below:-

In the same hardware some of the channel facing 4.8E8 BER. Based on the Bath tub plot what are all the setting to be done in DS100KR401 re-driver to achieve minimum BER and eye diagram.

  • Hi Nirmal,

Are you using link training or auto-negotiation? If you are, I recommend using 10G-KR mode as this makes the signal path more linear and better suited to pass these protocols. If you are not, I recommend using 10G mode.

Do the passing and failing channels have different insertion loss? Are there any other factors which differ between passing and failing channels?

The key configurable parameters are EQ on the RX side and de-emphasis and VOD on the TX side. You can find more information about how to adjust these parameters in the datasheet.

    Best,

    Lucas
