DP83822I: Looking for 10/100Base-TX PHY

Hello,

My customer is looking for a 10/100Base-TX PHY.
They would like 1-port, 2-pots or 4-ports if possible, working at Ta = -20oC to +85oC.
Their usages are as follows.
#1: 10/100 MAC implemented in FPGA to accommodate. (Normal use)
#2: 10Mbase-T1L PHY with fixed 10Mbps back-2-back connection. (Use as a repeater)

They are considering DP83822i, DP83825i and DP83849i right now. Do those devices meet their requirements?
Does TI have any other recommended PHYs to meet their requirements?

Hello,

Are they looking for 100Base-TX/10Base-Te PHY, or 10Base-T1L PHY? We have discrete PHYs that support either or communication in our portfolio, such as DP8382x family for Tx and DP83TD510 for T1L. Could you please provide a block diagram of the connection scheme they would want?

Hi Hirano,

Regarding the diagram, It appears that DP8382x family (DP83822, DP83825, DP83826) will be able to help satisfy the Tx need, while DP83TD510E will be able to take care of T1L. Note that the 82x family is multispeed, and thus the entire communication would need to run at 10Mbps.

Do you mean to use both DP8382x family and DP83TD510E to meet their requirements?

Hi Hirano,

Yes, it will be able to. Using your diagram, the yellow PHY can be one of DP8382x family. DP83TD510E is our only T1L PHY so it is default in.

We do have a dual PHY to fit the double by one constraint, DP83849, but it is an older device, and support is limited. For repeater applications, usually I would see RX_DV be used instead of CRS_DV to make this work. It appears that this device does have them separated, but customer would need to evaluate themselves.
