SN65LVCP408

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65LVCP408

Hi.

The SN65LVCP408 has an external reset pin. What is the minimum time for an active reset pulse?

In table 1 on page 15 in the data sheet it is refered to a parameter tsu1, internal register setup time, SDA to SCL (set to min. 250 us), what is this?

  • Hi Ulf,

The tsu1 parameter is the amount of time between a change of state on the SDA line and a rising edge on the SCL line.

I've asked our device characterization team to look into the minimum reset pulse duration.  I will let you know as soon as I hear back.

  • Ulf,

Sorry for the delay.  We actually do not have characterization data for the minimum required pulse duration, so we tested this parameter in the lab.  We were able to test down to a pulse duration of 5 ns, and for all cases the register map was properly reset to default values.  The minimum value should be somewhere less than 5 ns, although I think to be conservative it would be good to add some guard band to this number.  We were only able to look at one unit, so I am not sure how much this parameter could vary between units and across operating conditions.

    Best regards,
