DP83867E: DP83867E operating temperature

Part Number: DP83867E

Tool/software:

Hi, Ti Support team,

I am working on DP83867E project. It's suppose to work 10M/100M/1G form -40'C to +105'C.

Here is my question......

My circuit board is working form -40'C to +85'C at 3 linking speed. However it's link-down at 90'C on 10M speed.

and It's will link-up again if the linking speed is switched to 100M or 1G. Yes, the temperature is remain at 90'C.

At linking-speed 10M, the temperature is cooling down form 90'C to 80'C, it will back to linking-up at 84'C (maybe 85'C).

Would you please help me to identify the bug?

Gary

  • Hi Gary,

Thank you for sharing this information. Here are some questions I would like to confirm:

    • May I ask what is the link partner when you are performing the temperature test?
    • Are both DUT and Link Partner putting into the heating camber when you are performing the temperature test?
    • If possible, are you able to switch the link partner to DP83867E and see if this issue still remain?
    • Just wondering, are you able to read the register status during before heating test and after heating test?

  • Hi, Hillman,

    Thanks for your reply.

I use MT-1000A as my link partner for the temperature test. for more information about MT*-1000a   www.anritsu.com/.../mt1000a

Only DUT inside the heating camber.

I will try to switch the link partner to DP83867E and I I will let you know the test result.

Yes, I can read the register status during the heating test and which register should I pay attention to look out?

  • Hi Gary,

    Thank you for your reply.

Here are the registers I would like to pay attention to:

    • register 0x0000 to 0x001F for both normal temperature and high temperature at 10Mbpas and 100Mbps
