Tool/software:
Hello TI team,
In our new version of eDIB, we need to use a TMUX for the design of SGMII (2.5G) and PCI-E Gen5.
Could we use the SN75LVPE5421, or do you have any recommended components for this application?

Thanks

Hi Gary,
Yes you can use SN75LVPE5421 for this application. Please note PCIe - unlike SGMII - requires RX detection. Therefor RX detect has to be disabled for the SGMII application. Please refer to the SN75LVPE5421 data sheet for details.

Hi Nasser,
Is RX detection verified by pin RX_DET ( pin 42)? on table 6-4, RX_DET is decided by external resistor. so I have to switch the resisor to match PCI-E or SGMII, disable RX detection, right?
Any guideline to select MUX / DE-MUX?
Hi Alan,
1). Yes your understanding is correct. You should use RX_DET pin to disable PCIe mode or force termination.
2). There is a SEL pin that allows you to select mux/demux.
