TUSB2E11EVM: TUSB2E11 testing

Part Number: TUSB2E11EVM

Tool/software:

Hi,

How do we measure this electrical parameter & equalization specs  with the EVM and what are equipment needed ?

Is there a training material or tutorial on testing this part ? Thanks.

  • Hi Rick,

You would need a eUSB2 host or device and a corresponding USB 2.0 device or host.  The USB 2.0 device can be plugged into the USB port of the EVM.  The eUSB2 host or device should be plugged into the SMP connectors on the EVM.

The Vhsterm parameter can be measured by performing compliance test EL_9.  Using the USB-IF compliance software USBET to put the device in SE0 state to measure.

That particular parameter is "measured indirectly through jitter" @ 240MHz.  I'm following up with how this might be tested.

There is not much information on testing that we provide on how to test, it would be better to find this information in the USB Test Specification, which you can find in the USB-IF document library here USB 2.0 Electrical Compliance Test Specification Version 1.07 | USB-IF

Here are some training materials about eUSB2 repeaters and some information on how USB 2.0 compliance testing differs from standard USB 2.0 testing:
