TUSB217EVM: CE/EU Declaration of Conformity (aka EU DoC) required

Unfortunately, we do not currently have a CE/EU DoC for the TUSB217EVM. It may not have been a required when the EVM was originally made. Sorry about that.

What is this CE/EU DoC needed for? A customer need?

The CE/EU DoC is required for boards that bear the CE marking. Isn't this product CE-marked?

The reason for this request: It is a legal obligation for T.I as well as for us to have this in our records if the product is CE marked.

When a product is under the scope of one (or more) CE Directives, then it must be CE marked in order to be suitable for the EU/UK market, and as part of the obligations, the manufacturer must draw the CE/EU Declaration of Conformity (also known as CE/EU DoC), which is the self0declaration engaging their responsibility and confirming the product is compliant with the CE Directive(s) applying to that product.

When Mouser USA sells the products on behalf of T.I to the EU, Mouser USA is the importer. Under the CE DIrectives, the importers must hold in their records the CE/EU DoCs for all CE products they offer to the EU market.

Note: Both the importer and the manufacturer must keep the CE/EU DoCs in their records for 10 years after the last sales.

There are over 25 different CE Directives, ROHS 2011/65/EU is one of them.

Here is an example of CE/EU DoC for a similar product from T.I so you can see what is required:

In this example the product is under the scope of only one CE Directive (ROHS), if other CE Directives apply, the CE/EU DoC will be confirming compliance with these also.
