DS160PT801: use DS160PT801 in redriver mode (as a redriver)

We want to Test a PCIe over Cable connection in a new projekt, therefore we wanna test which speeds are possible via different cable lenghts in this setup.(Retimer vs. Redriver Mode).

Also on one endpoint side we aren't shure if there is placed a retimer or a redriver (I'm not shure is a retimer and redriver in one channel will work together. For my understanding they should, because then a retimer is the endpoint and between you got a redriver.) Therefore we wanna have a fallback to get a link both ways (By redriving or retiming).

• Links with redrivers and retimers together can work, yes. However, care should be taken to ensure that the redriver is operating in a linear region of equalization.
• Is the following diagram an accurate depiction of your proposed setup?

=> we wanna connect a hardware, we didn't design ourselves, via a PCIe over Cable connection and therefore we wanna test if connection is possible wia redriving or retiming.

The Diagram schould be changed to cable connection between Retimer and Redriver, than it's kind of what we wanna do.
