DS90UB953-Q1: Temperature Ramp Down Range

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TSER953

Tool/software:

Hello TI Team,

I received the new data sheets for the DS90UB953 and TSER953 from our PCM team.

I particularly noticed that chapter 7.3.1.1 has now been expanded to include the ‘Temperature Ramp Down Range’. Registers should now be read and set here during initialisation so that the PLL does not lose the LOCK when the temperature changes.

We have been using the DS90UB953 and the TSER953 without this initialisation for years now and have not received any information about malfunctions from our customers so far.

We also have not been able to detect any faults during climate tests either. Perhaps our tests were not sufficiently accurate.

  1. Has anything changed in the silicon?
  2. Are failures to be expected with new batches?
  3. Does this have to be updated in our drivers or can we continue to operate the systems as we do for years?

regards
Dirk
