We have not enough MCU pins, can we not use the nFault function? If not use, can we float it?

The nFAULT output can be left open.

The transceiver itself does not vare, but your application will no longer be able to detect such errors.

Clemens is correct, the nFAULT pin is not necessary for CAN transceiver function.
