TPS552892: schematic check

Part Number: TPS552892
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS552872

Tool/software:

Hi

Could you help check the below TPS552892 schematic and any need adjust

Normal =12V or 24V ,for battery voltage dip test will form 9V down to 3.2V

  • Hi Gareth,

Thank you for reaching out. May I know what is the application here? Output is 3.3V/1.2A, right?

1.Recommend to change to TPS552872. It is pin to pin with TPS552892 with 4A inductor current limit. Then customer can choose a 4A Isat inductor.

    2.Change C32 to16V rated. Recommend to add a 0.1uF capacitor here.

3.For inner loop stability, change L2 to 4.7uH

    4.Recommend to add a RC snubber in SW1 and SW2. 330pF+2.2ohm(1206).

5.Recommend to add a 10uF capacitor in output. Can you provide part number of C40 and C41 for loop calculation? I think  there is no need to add such large 560uF capacitor in output side. 68uF is enough.

  • Hi Muln

TPS552892 encountered a problem when testing at -30 degrees C. When VIN 9V drops to 3.2V, Vout 3.3V can only support about 160ms. If it exceeds, it will lose power. What is the impact? Is there any way to improve it? At normal temperature and won't happen PS: (When VIN 9V drops to 3.2V at normal temperature, Vout 3.3V can continue to operate)

    160ms PASS

    170ms Fail

  • Hi Gareth,

What is the output current now? Can you provide theSW1, SW2,  inductor current waveforms also?

    Regards,

    Mulin
