DS250DF230:

Part Number: DS250DF230

Tool/software:

For the DS250DF230 retimer, is there a document describing the mapping of attached eeprom adr to registers.

Do I need to use the SIGCON tool to generate the file?  Or can I tweek it by hand?

If I need SIGCON can you help me download the DS250DF230 profile for it.  I would like to have this in

any case for future use.

Thanks

-Jim D.

  • Hi Jim,

The following document has information on EEPROM structure for several similar devices.  Unfortunately, it does not directly include a EEPROM map for DS250DF230.

    https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla244/snla244.pdf

You can review the register map in the data sheet if you'd like to create an EEPROM map.  The EEPROM will consist of channel registers included in EEPROM followed by shared register data.

The EEPROM contents are sequential.  For example, if channel registers 0x03[7:0] and 0x08[7:0] are in the EEPROM, the EEPROM will have ch_reg_0x03[7:0] followed by ch_reg_0x08[7:0].

Please let us know if you have any questions about the format.

You can use the link below to request the DS250DF230 profile.

    Thanks,

  • Thanks Drew for the info and pointers.

I'll go thru the PDF to try and figure out the eeprom content arrangement while waiting for the profile.

Hoping that with the profile I will be able to spit out a file that could be used to program the eeprom after putting in the parameters our SI team has come up with.

    Thanks again for the help

  • Hi Jim,

The profile should allow you to just spit out a file for the EEPROM.  You should receive access in the next half hour.

Let us know if you have any questions or issues.

    Thanks,

    Drew
