TRS3232E-Q1 RS-232 Transceiver Automotive Qualification

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TRS3232E-Q1

Hi,

On the TRS3232E-Q1 data sheet, it is mentioned that this part is qualified for automotive applications.

I would like to know what that really means. The automotive temperature range is understood (-40 to 125 degrees C), but I would like to know if this part is AEC-Q100 certified.

If not, please explain what qualification/certification the "Qualified for Automotive Applications" is referring to.

Thanks,

Mahdi

  • Hello Mahdi,

The TRS3232EQPWRQ1 was qualified according to AECQ100 (with allowed exceptions ) and is supported for automotive customers.
All TI part numbers ending with a Q1 are automotive grade.
The Q in the middle of the orderable part number is only indication the temperature range, not if the part is AECQ100 or not
    (AECQ100 includes 5 temperature ranges).
