DS320PR410: READ_EN_N pin function

Part Number: DS320PR410

Tool/software:

Hi

I am currently working on a design that utilizes the DS320PR410 PCIe Gen 4 redriver, with the intention of programming it via SMBus mode using an external EEPROM. In our design, both the EEPROM and the redriver are powered by the same power net. Additionally, we have set the READ_EN_N pin to low through a pull-down resistor, ensuring that the device is ready to program itself from the EEPROM upon power-up.

I have a specific query regarding the behavior of the DS320PR410 during the programming process. If the device fail to successfully program itself from the EEPROM on the initial attempt, will it automatically continue to retry programming from the EEPROM until the process is completed successfully? Understanding this behavior is crucial for the robustness of our design.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or documentation you could provide on this matter. Your assistance will help us ensure that our design is both reliable and efficient.

Thank you for your time and support. I look forward to your response.

Regards

Ashish Singh
