SN65DSI83-Q1: Is there any risk if the video resolution size is less than 25M?

Part Number: SN65DSI83-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi team,

SN65DSI83-Q1 is used in the car project to convert the MIPI DSI interface to the LVDS interface.
Currently, the R&D team encountered a problem when debugging the prototype:
Since the output video resolution is 430*430@60fps; the customer calculated that the LVDS output clock at this resolution is lower than the 25MHz minimum clock frequency required by the SN65DSI83-Q1 specification.
Is there a solution? Or do you have other MIPI DSI to LVDS bridge chips that support this resolution?

  • Hi,

DSI83-Q1 Recommended Operating Conditions is from 25MHz to 154MHz. We can not guarantee the DSI83 operation if the LVDS clock frequency of this particular resolution is outside the DSI83 Recommended Operating Conditions. They have to use a higher resolution LVDS panel so the LVDS clock falls within the DSI83 Recommended Operating Conditions.

    Thanks

    David
