Hi,

In the datasheet, there is a mention that the re-drive has internal AC coupling capacitors. But this is especially highlighted for the RX side, and only in a couple of places there is mentioned regarding TX AC coupling CAPs (Table 6-1, 8.2 Functional Block Diagram). And only in the "8.2 Functional Block Diagram" the value is defined.

Could you please clarify if there are internal AC coupling CAPs on the TX side (after the driver) and their value?

Hi Nikita,

DS280MB810 has AC coupling Caps - 220nF - on input only. On the other hand, DS280BR810 has Caps on both inputs and outputs(220nF). Apologize for this inconvenience.

HI Nasser, thank you for the fast respond and for the suggestion.

I've had a look at 280BR810 and this repeater looks for me like a re-driver with an optional FIR that can be passed by. As far as I can see TI introduces 280BR810 as a chip for link-training-protocols, it's very interesting, since I would like to use it for Display Port 2.1.

Can you see any restrictions or features of using 280BR810 for DP2.1 except for the absence of the output termination?

HI Nasser,

Let me mention in this thread as well. I have tasks when I need to use redriver/repeater/mux like DS280MB(RB) family. It's clear that those device was not designed for DP, and I don't expect any solution by you or guidelines, but if you can assume any restrictions based on your experience, I would be happy to know about them and take it into account during designing. Thank you.
