TCAN1146-Q1: What happens when Vio or Vcc does not come after wake-up?

Part Number: TCAN1146-Q1

Tool/software:

Hello experts,

I got questions from my customer. Could you please answer the following question?

1. What happens when Vio or Vcc does not come after wake-up? Usually if we receive WUP/WUF/LWU, INH goes high and it enables LDO, and then Vio and Vcc comes to TCAN114x-Q1.

However, the customer would like to know what happens when Vio or Vcc does not come due to huge delay or something. Does it make the transceiver go to fail-safe mode or sleep mode as described in Figure 10-23 and 24?

I could not find clear description for the condition.

Thaks,

Kento

  • Adachi-san,

When the device transitions into Standby mode from a wake event, the SWE timer starts. Typically, the supplies come up, the controller clears any interrupts, transitions to Normal mode and CAN communication begins. However, if VIO and VCC are not supplied, the device cannot be transitioned to Normal mode, and the assumption is the controller would also not be properly supplied. In this case, the SWE timer would continue to countdown, and after 4 minutes the device will transition back to Sleep mode.

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett
