Our SOC is using a USB 3.0 HUB to connect to TUSB9261 in order to achieve USB 3.0 to SATA conversion. However, the SOC is unable to detect the hard drive and suspects that TUSB9261 is not working. Could you please help resolve this issue? Thank you!

Could you please help review the attached schematic diagram to ensure it is correct?

SPI flash is burned by a programmer and then installed on the board. The firmware name is TUSB926x_FW-v0.99_u1u_2 enabled.bin

TUSB9261 serial port does not have log printing. What is the baud rate?

TUSB9261 reset to high level, 40MHz clock is normal, TUSB9261 pin2 PWM0 connected LED is always on

Hello,

Multiple firmwares are available for the TUSB9261. The correct one should be chosen based on whether there is a polarity swap on the SATA side of the TUSB9261. The EVM has a polarity swap, so the default firmware often takes this into account.

In your schematic, there is no polarity swap, which is different than the EVM. I suspect this may be related to the issue. I am followin gup to see if there is a u1/u2 enabled firmware that also does not swap the SATA polarity.

The baud rate of the TUSB9261 is whatever you have set the COM port to on your computer.

This firmware version still doesn't work, and uart still doesn't print any logs.
The firmware is first download to spi flash through a programmer and then pasted onto the board.
Also, is the schematic correct?

Hi Tony,

Here is the schematic review. The only thing I noticed was the GRSTz pin. There is a requirement in the datasheet to have it deasserted 2ms after the power rails are stable.

If you toggle GRSTz after power up does that change the result?

Hi Tony,

You are not going to use the TUSB9261? I am confident this issue would have been resolved if we continued debug, but I understand that debug time may have been a concern.

If you are changing solution, then we will close the issue as there is no more support needed.
