Hello -
We are using the TCAN4551-Q1 with an external oscillator. We have two pieces of the TCAN4551 in our design, and wondering if we can use the same oscillator to drive OSC1 clk input on both IC's. The CMOS oscillator gives a max load capacitance of 15pF. Do you have a spec for the input capacitance of the OSC1 terminal?
Thank you
Leon
Hi Leon,
Unfortunately I don't have characterization data to support a full spec rating on this parameter. But I have measured it when writing the TCAN455x Clock Optimization and Design Guidelines App Note (Link) and so I have a nominal value.
The OSC1 and OSC2 pins have a pin capacitance of approximately 9 to10pF.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Jonathan
