DS90UR905Q-Q1: Can this be used with this video receiver

Part Number: DS90UR905Q-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi

we are planning to use GS3471 video receiver in our design. We need to interface this to a RGB display device. However the Semtech IC supports only Ycbcr. So we are planning to use this DS90UR905Q to connect this to the video receiver to enable us to convert from ycbcr to rgb. Please let us know if this TI part can be used for this functionality or please suggest some TI part if available.

Or please suggest any RGB video receivers if available with TI.

We need to connect the video receiver as below.

  • Hi,

The DS90UR905Q by itself cannot do this since it's a serializer, that converts RGB input to serializer FPD-Link II that has to connect to a compatible deserializer.

In your case, you need to covert Y'CbCr (or YUV) to RGB. Could you tell us what the output format/ interface for the Y'CbCr? It would help if you shared the part number/datasheet and what the output on the pins are.

    Best regards,
    Ikram

  • Hi

We need to interface the sdi receiver to EMA-101400-01 (SXGA120 R5 Microdisplay) .Please let us know if TI has any SDI receivers which can provide RGB output or you can sugest any IC from TI which can do Ycbcr to RGB conversion

  • I cannot find a TI IC SDI receiver or similar chip that converts the format from YUV or Y'CbCr input to RGB output.

However, we have Ser-Des pair what can convert other input video types to RGB output. The DS90UB926-Q1 is is a deserializer with RGB output. You can pair it with a a variety of serializers with LVDS, OLDI, HDMI, Display Port, or MIPI DSI input. Please let me know if you have the option to use any of these other inputs types instead of YUV/Y'CbCr.

    Best regards,
