Part Number: TCA6408A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAL6416, TCAL9539

Tool/software:

Hi,

May I know there have 2 x open drain INT I/O Expander solution.

I found most of I/O Expander only have 1 x open drain INT.

Thanks!

Jeff

  • In general, there is only one controller.

Why do you want two interrupts? Do you want to have two groups of input pins, each with their own interrupt?

  • Hi Jeff,

No I2C IO expander in our portfolio has more than 1 interrupt.

The /INT pin is set when any of the IO's configured as INPUTs change from their original state.

In some I2C Io expanders such as TCAL9539 or TCAL6416, these devices have an interrupt status register that identifies which IO trigger the interrupt on the /INT pin. This helps to determine which IO was the cause of the interrupt.

    Regards,

    Tyler
