TCAN2451-Q1: TCAN2451-Q1: TCAN2451 HSSx output PWM accuracy(duty cycle and frequency)

Part Number: TCAN2451-Q1

Tool/software:

As I know, the TCAN2451 has HSS1~4 integrated. They can support PWM output via SPI configuration. Now, I use it to control 3 LEDs with 200Hz PWM and another control signal with 400Hz. But the 400Hz control signal requests higher accuracy duty cycle 2% and frequency 1%.

For TCAN2451 HSSx output, what's the PWM output accuracy(duty cycle and frequency)?

  • Duty cycle accuracy can meet 2% requirement - it will be closer to 1%. However, the frequency accuracy will be +/-10% duty the accuracy of the 1MHz clock used by the PWM generator.

  • Dear Colleague.

May I know how do you get/estimate the accuracy parameter? I don't find it in the datasheet. Is there any other user manual to introduce or calculate the accuracy? Thanks

  • The PWM frequency is associated with the 1MHz clock accuracy. We do not have the 1MHz clock accuracy parameter published in the draft datasheet but will be published in the final datasheet.

Duty cycle is very close to 0% typically and does not drift for a given frequency. I have a question on the application and how the PWM is used. I will follow up via email through our field team as this is a Public forum.

    Thanks
