Whether TCAN1145 can wake up by FD message? I know it can be wake by F message.

    Beida,

    TCAN1145-Q1 is a selective wake CAN transceiver that can wake up by a typical CAN bus WUP, CAN FD or classic CAN, as well as configured wake-up frames specific to individual CAN nodes. The wake-up frame can only be a classic CAN message though, not CAN FD. This is also true for any selective wake CAN transceiver on the market. If you go to the TCAN1145-Q1 product folder on TI.com, there is an application note explain selective wake/partial networking, and how to enable it on the TCAN1145-Q1 transceiver.

    Hi Eric,

    You said TCAN1145 can wake up by CAN FD, and wake up frame must be classic CAN message. How to understand it?  In other wards,  If I want to wake up TCAN1145 by CAN FD, how to operate and configure it?

    Beida,

    The wake-up pulse can be CAN FD since it is just a dominant-recessive-dominant. However, the wake-up frame, which is a full CAN frame configured for a specific transceiver for wake, cannot be CAN FD, that has to be classical CAN. If the customer wants to use selective wake, it has to be classical CAN, it cannot be CAN FD.
