SN65HVD230: What is the difference between devices with different suffixes (DR and DG4)?

Part Number: SN65HVD230

Tool/software:

I have been using SN65HVD230DG4, but I was recommended to use SN65HVD230DR because of ESG support.

In order to switch to the part with the suffix of DR, please tell me the following contents.

①Is the plating material different between SN65HVD230DR and SN65HVD230DG4? Please tell me the material of each.

　I know both of them support Lead free, but I would like to know if there is a difference in materials and structure.

②How does switching from the SN65HVD230DG4 to the SN65HVD230DR contribute to ESG?

③Is there any difference in environmental resistance (thermal life, etc.) between SN65HVD230DG4 and SN65HVD230DR?

1. No, the material is the same. G4 is just the way TI used to differentiate between lead-free devices and ones with lead. Now all TI devices are lead-free.

　→When I searched online, I saw information that terminal finish of G4 device is CUNiPdAu and terminal finish of DR device is CUNiPdAu or CuSn.
Is it correct to understand that there is no such difference?　（only about SN65HVD230)

If DG4 and DR are the same material, please tell me the reason why the model number of G4 is left.

Regarding ESG, I assume that reel packaging will contribute to ESG. What do you think?

The DG4 number does no longer exist. There is the DRG4, which is identical with the DR.

A reel is large and thus more efficient than a tube, and easily allows smaller quantities with cut tape. But the main improvement comes from having only one packaging option.
