Hi all,
I am currently working on a board that utilizes the TUSB8041 hub along with the TUSB1142 USB-C MUX and the TPS25730D USB-PD controller. I am running into a strange issue where the USB hub will power on and appear to function correctly for roughly 2 seconds before shutting down. During this period, the USB 2.0 devices are visible on my computer's USB device tree, but the USB 3.0 FIFO chip is not seen. After the 2 second period, all USB devices disappear and I am unable to connect to the board. Additionally the crystal for the hub stops working.
I've checked the reset pin, with my current setup, the 1.8V rail is used to power an LDO which generates the 1.1V Core rail for the hub. Both the 1.8V and 3.3V rails power on at the same time with a ~2ms rise time. The 1.1V rail reaches full power roughly 1ms before the 3.3V rail, and the GRSTz pin reaches 2.4V (data sheet listed VHI level) roughly 14ms after 1.1V comes on, or ~13ms after 3.3V is up.
When probing the XTAL pins, I notice that upon powerup, the clock will begin for a brief moment, then stop and restart approximately 267ms later at which point it will continue to run for just over 2 seconds before shutting down. Below are some scope shots I captured of the rails, RST pin and clock pins along with the USB and power schematics.
I am pretty lost on what the issue could be so some guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
