is there a commercial-grade, pin and package equivalent to the THVD9491-SEP?

I'm looking for a 3v3 RS-xxx transceiver for which commercial and space grade equivalents exist that have the same package and pin-out

No; it's neither rad tolerant nor vacuum rated.

Can you recommend a 3v3 RS-xxx transceiver that is available in both commercial and space grade, which has the same pin-out and same or similar package please.

The SN65C1168 is a 5V part, but I need a 3V3 part ...

Hi Rajan,

The THVD9491-SEP is currently our only dual 3.3V or 5V powered RS-485 transceiver rated for space applications. The THVD2452V is pin to pin, and it can also be supplied with either 3.3V or 5V. But as Clemens clarified, THVD2452V and THVD2452V-EP are not space rated.

This is a misunderstanding. The THVD2452V(-EP) can be used as a commercial/enhanced replacement for the THVD9491-SEP.

Thank you for the update, why is the THVD2452V-EP datasheet does not show the XY inputs but the THVD9491 does? Can I assume A and Y are positive and B and Z are negative?

I believe the THVD2452V-EP and THVD9491 are functionally the same ...

I believe you are referencing the full versus half duplex diagram on the first page of each document. Because THVD24xxV has both half and full-duplex variations, that is why it appears to be different. However, if you check the pin configuration on page section 4 of each document, the pinout matches.

THVD2452V is full-duplex with A/B and Y/Z pins, just like THVD9491. I believe you meant to write YZ (not XY), but correct me if I am wrong.

Typically you are correct about the positive and negative differences about the A, B, Y, Z pins, but what matters most is the difference (V_OD) between the A/B pair and the Y/Z pair since RS-485 is a differential standard. For the receiver, the A pin is tied to the R line, and the B pin is just inverted (not necessarily negative).
