Quick question. Customer was initially using the DP83822, but ran in to a requirement where they need to plug in a 1000Base SFP. The issue arises in that when their end user plugs in a 1000Mbps solution, the DP83822 in tangent with the AM3359 are not able to auto-negotiate to derate to 100Mbps (which is the data rate they want to use). This results in the link not working.
They need a way to augment the PRU ports of the AM3359 which are stuck with MII.
I thought if they switch to a more standard Gig Phy this would resolve the issue. Does the DP83869 look like it would fit this need?
Per the customer:
Could you please make sure that it will bring up the SFP at 1000Base-X if you plug in a 1000Base SFP, even when it knows the back end is only MII (100Mbps)?
When in MII mode, if it always throttles down the front end to 100Base, then that won’t work.
