TCA6408A: I2C command example

Hello team,

My customer is failing to control this device. (there is ACK on I2C, so I2C communication is successful)

Could you give me example I2C command customer should send when they want to change the P0 output to be HIGH?

Customer tried 0x20 -> 0x01 ->0x01, but failed. (See description below)

The default configuration of all pins is as inputs. You also have to configure the pin as output.

Hi Kei,

Clemens is correct.

You must write to the configuration first to set the pin from an INPUT --> OUTPUT.

Then you can write to the output port register to set the logic value of the pin.
