TRSF3232E: difference in data sheet vs SN75C3232E

Tool/software:

The part number TRSF3232E is declared as a 1Mbit/s RS232 transceiver, but at paragraph 9.2.1 (Design Requirements) is indicated that "• Maximum recommended bit rate is 250 kbites".

In data sheet of the similar P/N SN65C3232E (now not suggested for new designs) at the same paragraph is written "• Maximum recommended bit rate is 1 Mbps".

Is the first indication a mistake?

Can I use the TRSF3232E as a replacement of SN65C3232E also at 1Mbps?

The TRSF3232E is a faster version of the TRS3232E/MAX3232E, and can replace the SN65C3232E. It definitely supports 1 Mbps (see section 6.10); the remark in section 9.2.1 appears to be a copy/paste error.

Thank you for your opinion. I think too to a copy/paste mistake.
I hope in a official answer from TI.

Hi Lorenzo,

The correct speed for the TRSF3232E is indeed 1Mbps, and it can replace the SN65C3232E. The value listed in 9.2.1 as 250Kbps is a typo. Thank you for making us aware of this!
