Tool/software:
Hi,
I am using TCAN4550 component.
In the datasheet i see that Vsup absolute maximum is 42V and the recommanded is 24V. Is ot ok to work with 28V?
My power supply output is 28V.
Thank you
Maor M.

Hi Maor,
The absolute maximum voltage rating is 42V and the ESD cells will engage if this voltage is exceeded so using 28V will not cause the ESD cells to trigger.
The datasheet specifications are valid for the recommended operating conditions which includes this max supply voltage value. The TCAN4550 has a maximum supply voltage of 24V, so the specifications are only guaranteed up to 24V unless otherwise stated.
However, the TCAN4550-Q1 is the automotive grade version of this device and it has a maximum supply voltage of 30V which would cover your 28V supply. I would therefore recommend the TCAN4550-Q1 for your application instead of the TCAN4550.

Jonathan
