TCAN1051H: Minimum current consumption TCAN1051HDR

Part Number: TCAN1051H
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1051

Tool/software:

Hello,

To check whether the TCAN1051 is properly mounted and functional, I would like to measure the current requirement.
Unfortunately, the data sheet only shows the typical and maximum values (see data sheet, chapter 6.7 ICC Normal Mode (recessive)). Can you tell me the value for the minimum current?
Thank you in advance.

Best regards

Michael

  • TI does not measure or guarantee this.

The typical value is measured at 25 °C. The specified maximum accounts for both temperature and manufacturing variations. If you are doing your tests at the same 25 °C, then I would expect the possible deviation to be much smaller than the difference between typical and maximum, so applying the same factor to get a minimum (0.9 mA) should be safe. If you are paranoid, round it down to 0.5 mA. (As far as I can see, the only possible error cases are 0 mA or, for a short, a current much larger than 2.5 mA.)

(This test checks only that VCC and GND are connected; a proper functional test would include sending and receiving.)
